The JRLE ring roller

sheet metal rings segments rolled section

A german built machine originally designed to circle heavy duty tubing and bar has been adapted to roll sheet metal components either as pre-cut segments or full rings. Digital technology has been applied to the hand adjustable heads to give positional accuracy to 0.01mm thus allowing close tolerance components  to be made accurately and consistently.

  • Ring diameters to 1.7m
  • Profile widths to 350mm

Tri-sided rolling machine

A recent aquisition of a rolling machine capable of rolling solid or profiled material has been made. This equipment is unique and highly specialised, with micron adjustment it is capable of circling to a very high degree of accuracy. The true potential has yet to be explored but its capabilities would include piston rings, bearing rails, bellows, elipses, "petaled" rings and more, achievable in almost all materials in any cross section.

Tooling

sheet metal rings segments rolled sectionCAD designed form tooling is mounted on the JRLE machine turntable with rolls carried on the adjustable heads. This gives the ability to form components "in the round" as opposed to rolling straight section and then curling it. The benefit of this is a more stable part, not suffering from the  twist or inconsistency of form often encountered in more conventional methods.
